Accidents

Unfortunately, as all athletes know, there is no such thing as an injury-free sport.
Every time an accident occurs at our premises, from cuts and grazes to serious injuries, a form is filled in with the following information: day, precise time and place of the injury [+]

Arkose has joined other sports actors in signing the Ministry of Sports and WWF Charter

All Arkose and MurMur blocparks are signatories of the Charter of the 15 responsible commitments for managers of major sports facilities and sites, drawn up by the Ministry of Sports and the WWF [+]

Restore holds and volumes to double their lifespan

The climbing holds and volumes are made of polyester, polyurethane, fiberglass, resins, varnish... They have an average lifespan of 2 years as the wear out with use and recycling them poses a real problem [+]

FSC-certified wood climbing walls

To create our climbing walls we work with manufacturers who favor wood to construct the frame of the walls and the panels on which the holds are placed. This wood is FSC-certified [+]

100% plant-based and biodegradable maintenance products

We only reference 100% plant-based and biodegradable maintenance products that are Ecocert-certified or equivalent. [+]

Ecotable-certified restaurants

Ecotable is a French certification for sustainable catering, and perhaps the most demanding one, which identifies and promotes restaurateurs who have eco-friendly practices. [+]

Composted biowaste from the restaurants and bars

Organic waste from restaurants and bars is collected for local composting. Where the service is available, we opt for collection by bike [+]

Reducing catering waste

By using each product as much as possible, by ordering the right quantities, by adjusting the dishes, we try to minimize organic waste from catering. [+]

Recycling cigarette butts

Cigarette butts are very polluting (1 cigarette butt in nature = 500L of polluted water). We are setting up collection and recycling channels for cigarette butts. We are currently working with Cy-clope, who transform cigarette butts into fuel for cement plants. [+]

Arkose&co conducts its carbon footprint assessment

The measurement of greenhouse gas emissions is the cornerstone of the low-carbon strategy. We are conducting our first scope 3 carbon footprint assessment in the first half of 2020 [+]

Organic cotton and recycled polyester for SNAP products

The cotton and polyester that SNAP buys to make its products are organic and recycled respectively. We are working towards certifying the products in 2020. [+]

Fleet of electric cars

The “Arkose Mobiles” are electric vehicles. They are mainly used to transport equipment from one blocpark to another, or to deliver our craft beers. Cars are divided between blocparks in the same region in order to reduce the number of cars and maximize their use. [+]

Oskare, a local beer

The malt used in the Parisian production of our craft beer comes from Burgundy, and we restrict the distribution area to a distance of less than 250 km by electric vehicle. We deliver right up to our blocparks in Rouen, Lille and Tours [+]

Takeout food: biodegradable packaging and personal containers welcome

All our takeout consumables are biodegradable and OK Compost-certified: packaging, cutlery, napkins. But as the best waste is the waste that never even exists, we have set up a 3-point system : customers are welcome to use reusable, clean, dry and resealable containers [+]

Plastic is banned in our halls

There is already enough plastic for our liking in our halls, thanks to the holds and mats. While waiting to find a solution to this challenge, we have already made the decision to ban any other form of plastic wherever we can in our climbing halls [+]

Osteopathy sessions and unlimited access to a specialist hand surgeon for our route developers

The route developers are our employees who create the climbing routes. They are high-level athletes who are at risk of injury. In addition to the fact that we limit first accession sessions to 2 or 3 per week to allow them time to recover physically [+]

Training the Snap team in eco-design

The Snap team will be trained in eco-design in early 2020 and assisted with a process of innovation during the year for the most important products of the brand [+]

Training the arkose&co construction division in eco-renovation and low-carbon construction

Getting our teams familiar with sustainable development is one of the best ways to ensure that these issues are automatically taken into account. In the first half of 2020, the 7 people from our construction division, who renovate, decorate and maintain our halls, will be trained in [+]
